Last updated: 1 October 2026

These terms apply when you use www.wordlark.app and play.wordlark.app (together, "Wordlark"). By creating an account or using Wordlark you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

Who we are

Wordlark is run by Ordinate Ltd, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). You can contact us at [email protected].

Using Wordlark

Fair use

Please do not:

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where that is reasonable.

Your lists and content

Lists, words and other content you add remain yours. You give us permission to store, copy and display them as needed to run Wordlark for you, and to show them to anyone you choose to share them with. You confirm that you have the right to add them: for example, take care when copying material from a published textbook. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

Our content

Wordlark's software, design and built-in word lists belong to us or the people we license them from. You may use them for your own learning or teaching, but not copy or republish them without our permission.

We work hard to make our word lists accurate, but language is varied and some lists have been prepared with the help of automated tools. Mistakes are possible. Please tell us when you find one.

The service

Wordlark is provided as it is and as available. We aim to keep it running smoothly, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of faults. We may change, add or remove features, and we may introduce paid features in future. If we do, we will make clear what costs money before you pay anything, and the terms for paid features will be set out at that point.

Ending your account

You can stop using Wordlark at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing us. We may close accounts that have broken these terms, or end the service as a whole with reasonable notice.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under UK law. Otherwise, as Wordlark is provided free of charge, we are not responsible for any indirect loss, or for loss of data or content beyond what we can reasonably restore. We recommend keeping your own copy of any lists that matter to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date at the top, and if the change is significant we will tell you on the site or by email. If you keep using Wordlark after a change, the new terms apply.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
